Lanya is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist specializing in the unique challenges faced by high-achieving individuals, as well as couples and families. She works primarily with executives, financial professionals, attorneys, and other leaders who are navigating the intersection of professional growth and personal well-being. She also works closely with creatives and those in the visual and performing arts. Lanya understands that success often comes with distinct pressures: the weight of constant decision-making, the challenge of maintaining relationships while managing demanding careers, and the difficulty of addressing vulnerabilities in competitive environments. Her practice provides a confidential space where accomplished individuals can explore anxiety, depression, burnout, imposter syndrome, work-life integration, and relationship challenges without judgment.
Drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, Lanya’s style is warm, frank, and attentive to the processes of healing and personal growth. She appreciates that her clients value efficiency, insight, and practical strategies and structures her work accordingly.
With clinical experience in a hospital-based psychiatric setting, Lanya is comfortable working with individuals, and families who struggle with substance use and mental illness. She frequently collaborates with psychiatrists and is able to refer patients for medication management, if clinically indicated or if therapy alone is not enough.
Lanya earned her Masters of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice from Columbia University and trained at New York Presbyterian and Mount Sinai hospitals in New York City. She works in the department of psychiatry at Mount Sinai West and Morningside Hospitals where she teaches residents, medical students, and supervises Social Work interns. Lanya maintains a private practice with offices in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Heights and offers flexible scheduling to accommodate demanding calendars, including evening appointments.
